Coaching you through the clutter, overwhelm and frustration of ADHD.

I specialise in coaching adults who receive an ADHD diagnosis. My goal is to help you "relearn how to do life" by embracing your unique gifts and traits, rather than focusing on the negatives that may have been highlighted due to undiagnosed and/or unmanaged ADHD.

Hello

I'm Bec Thompson, ADHD Coach and Founder of ADHD Assist Qld.

I "speak" ADHD fluently thanks to my own lived experiences and International Accreditation as an ADHD Coach.  After almost 10 years of fumbling through my children's ADHD management, I was often left shattered and dismayed as to how hard it was; surely there had to be a better, more supportive way!

My husband and I were conflicted with parenting styles, I was reaching burnout as I juggled Motherhood and running my Wellness businesses, and then ..... one fateful day at my son's Psych appointment the Doctor asked, "So which one of you has ADHD?"

That question changed everything for me.  The puzzle pieces fell into place, and after receiving my diagnosis, I understood exactly why I acted, felt, and thought in a particular (and sometimes very weird) way. In learning how to successfully manage my ADHD, I realised that medication alone was not the 'silver bullet' I hoped it would be and undertook regular Coaching sessions and commenced formal ADHD Coaching studies.  Through this process of growth I realised how difficult managing ADHD can be when faced with feeling misunderstood or unsupported.

I am dedicated to providing a safe, supportive, and educational space for people with ADHD to embrace their authentic selves through Coaching.

In each session I am committed to uncovering your unique strengths and fostering opportunities to learn more about yourself and what is important to you.

In my role as an ADHD Coach, I draw on my own experiences as a Mother raising three young adult children, with ADHD/ASD and my diagnosis of ADHD at 48.

A little more about me... I love music, the beach, belly laughs, being a bit cheeky, and value authenticity. Previously I owned Wellness businesses for 20+ years; I also love Doritos and coffee. I have been happily married for over 20 years. In a previous life I was a Senior Lending Officer but that was waaay too boring for me. I genuinely love people. I have four tattoos and they all represent my desire to connect, support and embrace others.

The greater awareness now that I have of my ADHD & how to deal with that, obtained from the coaching, is already showing signs of improvement with my relationships with people & hopefully I will continue to see benefits. A pill can only go so far in improving oneself & the awareness & behaviour modification that I now know is the other big piece of the puzzle.

The Coaching Process

ADHD Coaching is a collaborative, supportive, goal-oriented process in which the coach and the client work together to identify the client's goals and then develop the self- awareness, systems, and strategies—the skills—necessary for the client to achieve those goals

01

Intake Session

First Meeting 90 Mins

In this initial session, we explore how ADHD is negatively impacting you, what strengths we scaffold around, and create some goals for Coaching. I also love these first sessions as it gives you a chance to 'suss me out, ask questions, and assess if you would like to work with me.

02

Regular Sessions

Ongoing Appts 50 Mins

Typically clients will require a minimum 4-6 sessions to build momentum, gain trust to take consistent action, and learn the skills to 'coach' themselves. We collaborate to not only build strategies but to also understand how to work with your unique ADHD traits.

03

Exit Session

Exit Session 30-50 Mins

We ensure you are armed with your personalised 'blue- print' for managing your ADHD.

We cover;

Warning signs of burn-out Strategies to use when you 'press pause'
Tools in your ADHD Toolbox for various situations

Reflect on your progress

04

Tune-Up Session

Tune Ups-30Mins

Just because you may have 'graduated' from ADHD Coaching, doesn't mean you can't check in with me. These sessions are used for cases after your formal period of engagement has completed, and you are wanting to just have a brief 'tune-up' and put you back on your path.
